El Palacio Eugenia de Montijo.
Lujo y arte, comodidad y buena mesa reunidos en el antiguo Palacio de la Emperatiz Eugenia de Montijo rehabilitado y convertido en un hotel 5 estrellas en el casco histórico de Toledo.
La apertura del Palacio Eugenia de Montijo ha estado precedida de un arduo y cuidado proceso de rehabilitación de los restos arquitectónicos encontrados que ha dado como resultado la creación de espacios especiales, que, además, contribuyen a la recuperación histórica de parte de nuestro propio patrimonio cultural. Buen ejemplo son el SPA, que incorpora instalaciones de última generación en antiguos espacios árabes y el salón comedor en el que disfrutar alfarjes del siglo XVI.
En el primer hotel que abrió Fontecruz Hoteles en Ávila, las paredes se vistieron con obra original de Bonifacio, Marta Cárdenas, Luis Gordillo, Amaya Bozal y Darío Basso, series de grabados editados por Fontecruz Ediciones de Arte.
El Palacio Eugenia de Montijo, ha querido continuar en la propuesta cultural y ha editado obra de autores ligados al Grupo Tolmo, de Toledo. Con esta nueva edición de obra gráfica, Fontecruz Ediciones de Arte ha buscado enlazar el hotel con la historia de la ciudad y para ello ha querido que sean los pintores toledanos los que estén presentes tanto en los espacios comunes del hotel como en las habitaciones. Así, uno de los edificios singulares de la ciudad se muestra como una exposición permanente del arte contemporáneo con obras de Eduardo Sánchez-Beato, Francisco Rojas y Fernando Giles.
En tercer lugar, la seña de identidad gastronómica de Fontecruz Hoteles le lleva en esta ocasión a la buena mesa del chef, también de origen y vocación toledana, Adolfo Muñoz, donde sus platos se pueden degustar en un entorno poco común.
El lujo y el placer que rodea el buen trabajo de los arquitectos, bajo la atenta y escrupulosa tarea de arqueólogos y restauradores especializados le permitirá admirar alcantarillados romanos, muros árabes del S XIV, muros del S XVI, artesonados del S. XIV y XVI en los que aparecen los escudos de las principales Familias Toledanas de la época.
El Palacio Eugenia de Montijo ha abierto un Club Deportivo, el PEM Club de SPA y Fitness, para socios con cuotas mensuales, recepción independiente y eso, si, acceso a los lugares comunes, siempre propicios para una buena conversación y una comunicación sosegada.
