Adolfo Muñoz y su familia celebra durante esta semana la semana Grande de Toledo, el Corpus Christi.
Te invitan a que lo conozcas además de disfrutar de nuestra gastronomÃa.
La fiesta del Corpus Christie es la EucaristÃa en la Última Cena del Señor y en un intento de exaltar la Hostia Santa. En la Edad Media se instituyó su fiesta, cuando en 1208 la beata Juliana de Mont-Cornillón promueve la idea de instituir la fiesta litúrgica por excelencia, siendo Santo Tomás de Aquino el encargado de difundirla con su obra Oficio y Misa del “Corpus”.
Faroles, guirnaldas, vidrieras, forjas y otros objetos tradicionales disponen el recorrido por el que marcha la EucaristÃa; las paredes, balcones y ventanas se revisten con antiguos y bellos tapices, mantones y estandartes. La ciudad se convierte entonces en una prolongación de la Catedral y las calles en templo al aire libre.
El dÃa anterior el camino es perfumado cubriendo el pavimento con hierbas aromáticas, romero, tomillo, cantueso o espliego crean auténticas alfombras olorosas.
La Custodia, es una de las más exquisitas joyas de la cristiandad, fue elaborada en su interior con el primer oro traÃdo de América; una segunda custodia exterior creada en plata, y más tarde bañada en oro, protege la primera. A este oro y plata se unen perlas y gemas para armar semejante obra diseñada en forma de torre gótica.

Wow! It is like you read my mind! You seem to know a lot about this, just like you wrote the book in it or something. I think that you could do with some pictures to drive the content home a bit, but other than that, this is great blog. A wonderful read. I will definitely revisit again.
